Saturday Spotlight with hidden potential

Hi Everyone

Well back again this time with my entry for the saturday spotlight hidden potential challenge which this week was to 'make a scene'. Well I have been racking my brains all week to no avail and then during my card making session this afternoon I had a brainwave and came up with this card. The elements on it are really simple the trees and snowflakes are by Anita's outline stickers, the background is black card the two reindeer are from a set of 12 by Craft for Occasions and the hill was drawn using a gray pencil.

Hi Everyone

Sorry about the lack of posts this week but I have been really busy with uni work.... now you are probably wondering about the title of the post, well over on the Cards for men blog their is a call for DT members (check it out here) and I thought that I would submit a card to see if I might be selected for the disgn team.....

On to the card... The top picture is a close up of the image as I think its great for a male card. The second image is the better of the two as it shows the whole card. The backing paper is form the 'Hopscotch' paper pad by K&Company, the black ribbon is from paper mania, the senitment (which says 'May your day be filled with fun and laughter') is by Funstamps, the image is from Personal impressions 'cute characters set 2' and is coloured using LePlumeII and whisper stroke pens

On to the card itself the backing paper is from the BoBunny Back to Backs range and is called 12" Tis the season deck the halls, the black ribbon is from Papermainia ribbon collection, the snowflake (which I recently purchased) is from Crafts for Christmas and the christmas tree stamp was from Hobbycraft and coloured with LePlumme II pens.

Forever Friends Happy Birthday

Hi all

Well I am back as I manged to fit in some crafting time this morning. I used the sketch from the Creative Inspiration challenge to make this card - I only hope I am not to late to enter it - the colour combo of blue and green is not a usual choice for me (I usually combine them with other colours) but I love how they have worked out on this card. The papers on the card are from the K&Co 'Hopscotch' paper pack, the image is from the Forever Friends collection and coloured using Whispher Stroke markers and LePlumme II pens and the paper flowers are from imaginisce. I have added a close up of the image aswell as none of the photos do the card justice.

The weather here has not been great so I spent some of the day crafting, blog hopping etc and managed to get a load of challenge cards done (so there are going to be quite a few posts this afternoon). This card is what I made using this weeks Papertake weekly challenge sketch as you can see its a birthday card, the backing paper is from the Daisy and Dandelion 'Christmas Collection' A4 Paper Pack 'A winter's tale', the sentiment is from Express Yourself DIY, the ribbon is from the Papermania ribbon collection and the stamped is from Funstamps (and is called 'Clare') I coloured the teddy with Whispher stroke pens and LePlumeII pens. I really like the layout of this sketch as it is so versitile - I will be using it again.

Sketch Saturday

Hi all

This is the card I made for this weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge which was pets. I loved the sketch that was used on the challenge as it allowed me to experiment with some bits I've had in my stash for a while but haven't had an occasion to use them. I deemed that to some people a sheep could be classed as a pet!
On to the card itself the green backing paper and the stripy paper which I used for the semi-circle are from the Daisy and Dandelion 'Christmas Collection' A4 Paper pack 'A Winter's Tale', the silver ribbon is from stash, the light green corragated card is from stash, the yellow flowers were made using a punch, the red border ribbon (around the stamped image and overlapping the silver ribbon) are self adhesive velvet borders from the paper cellar's make it yourself range, the sentiment is from Express Yourself DIY, the bow at the end of the ribbon is from Club Green celebration and Craft and the Image is from Inca Stamps and is called 'Curly Sheep'. I raised the stamp image up using foam pads and then attached the flowers in the corner to it.
Hope you like it and I am now off to do some blog hopping

Crafts 4 Eternity

Hi All
Yes I am back again.... and its another challenge card, this time for Crafts 4 eternity Recipe Challenge. I loved the challenge on the blog this week as not only did it include a sketch but also two additional recipe peices (a knot or bow and a punch).
So on to the card itself, the snowflake backing paper is from the 'Christmas Collection' A4 Paper Pack 'A Winter's Tale' by Daisy and Dandelion - I am loving this paper pack at the moment. The green paper with gold flowers on it is from stash (sorry cannot remember the company), the ribbon with the knot at the end is from stash, the 'christmas' sentiment is from a christmas stamp collection I have had for years (sorry cannot remember company), the two white swirls above and below the sentiment were made using a punch that I recently purchased from Hobbycraft and which I thought worked well with this card layout, the snowman is stamped image (again sorry but cannot remember company) and was coloured using LePlume II pens and Whisphers Strokes Markers.
I hope to be back later with another posting

Another Christmas Card

Hi All
Firstly sorry about the lack of posts this week. I have been having some problems with my digi camara which have now been resolved. On to the card I made it using the sketch off of the Just Christmas and Birthday Cards challenge (check it out here). The backing paper was from the Daisy and Dandelion 'Christmas Collection' A4 Paper Pack 'A Winter's tale' the ribbion was from Papermainia and the holly was a stamp (sorry cannot remember who by but will check) the holly was stamped onto some white card from stash.
Thanks for stopping by
Ben
Edit: I had also intended to include this card in the Papertake weekly challenge which last week was 'Black and White +1' but missed the deadline. Also the sentiment stamp was from a set that I have for years (sorry cannot remember the company)

Forever Friends Happy Birthday

Hi all
Here is a Forever Friends card that I made a few days ago and which I love. Although there is not much on the card I think it looks extreamly sweet with the bear carrying the present. The card is pretty simple, the stamp is part of the Forever Friends collection, the white card was from stash and the sentiment is by Express Yourself DIY and the image was coloured using LePlume II and Whispers Stokes markers.
I hope to be back later with another card.
Ben

Let it snow - A spoon full of sugar

Hi everyone
Well I am back again.... with another christmas card. This one I made this afternoon after the Bently Bear Card. Snowmen are one of my favourite things at christmas so they will be making a regular appearence over the next few months.... well onto the card, the gold background is the actual card blank, the snowman topper was from Hobbycraft, the paper, snowflakes and sentiment were from stash and Let's Get Crafting Christmas Cards issue 16. The top picture is a close up and probably the better of the two photos. I have entered this card into the 'A Spoon Full of Sugar' challenge this week which is christmas creations. You can check out the blog here

Bently Bear Christmas

Hi all
Well here is one of the christmas cards that I promised to show you earlier. Out of all the cards I have made this is one of my favourites - the image of Bently Bear is so adorable don't you think?? I have found a couple stamps of Bently at christmas and am itching to ink them up so watch this space..... on to the card itself, the snowflake paper and the dark red paper (on which Bently Bear is mounted) are from the 'Christmas Collection' A4 paper pack 'A Winter's Tale' by Daisy and Dandelion which I purchased a few days and is absolutely adorable. The Bently Bear stamp is one of seven that came with cardmaking and papercraft issue 70 (you will be glad to know that not all my cards where made from magazine free gifts - but they have helped to start off my stash) Bently Bear was coloured using Whispers Strokes and LePlume II pens.
I have added a close up of the Bently Bear stamp but the photo really does not do it justice. I have also entered this card into the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week where the challenge is Celebration. Check out the challenge here
Have a great weekend
Ben
